Louie Paul Rudin
April 8, 1952 - June 7, 2015
Longtime staff person Louie Rudin
went home to be with his beloved Savior on June 7. Living in Ithaca, New York,
Louie was the area director of Tompkins County at the time of his passing. He
had been involved with the mission since attending Cornell University and came
on Young Life staff the summer of 1978, serving as an area director for nearly
37 years. Louie loved Jesus and everyone around him, and in return was a dearly
loved man, as can be witnessed in hundreds of posts on social media like the
following:
“Louie was
able to walk into our lives in such a kind and authentic way. Just like Jesus.
I have known Louie Rudin since high school and we reconnected when I moved to
Rochester in 1992. Since then we spoke nearly every week. He was better at
ministry than he ever realized or would take credit for because for Louie, it
was always about loving Christ and loving people. And he did that so well. What
a wake of eternal impact this man has left behind him! I smile, laugh and cry
at the thought of his passing. I will really, really miss him. I laugh the
most, shaking my head thinking, ‘You rascal, Louie! You did it! You lived life
to the fullest! Enjoy, my friend, enjoy.’”
