The Young Life Store

If you read the ads in Relationships you know about The Young Life Store (younglifestore.com) and maybe you’ve already shopped there. But you may not know the why and the who behind the mission’s online store. Because this issue of the magazine includes a product catalog, we wanted to also offer a look behind the storefront.

Apparel with a purpose
The Young Life Store has two objectives:

  • To promote Young Life by providing affordable, appealing, high-quality branded apparel and merchandise online. In the same way that camp stores enable campers, leaders and adult guests to take home a reminder of their week at camp, the online store offers another way to connect with Young Life from anywhere at any time.

  • To serve staff, volunteers, committee and friends who need custom Young Life merchandise for gifts or events. The Young Life Store offers a “Build Your Own” (BYO) custom service to support golf tournaments or other fund-raising events as well as gift ideas for thanking leaders, donors and friends of the mission.

Revenue for making a difference
As The Young Life Store becomes profitable, revenues generated will fund special ministry initiatives (in the same way, profits realized through sales at camp stores subsidize the cost of camp).

A committed team
Young Life has contracted with Ink Enterprises to build and operate the online store. Located in Maumelle, Ark., Ink is committed to helping ministries do what they do best. Ink has operated an online merchandising and brand building program for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, among others, for almost 10 years.

“As an organization committed to helping ministries become more effective, the team at Ink Enterprises is excited to work with Young Life,” said Holt Condren, president and founder of Ink. “We love what the mission stands for and how effectively you reach kids for Christ.

“Our goal is to come alongside the mission with quality products that serve a purpose and that make members of the Young Life constituency proud to be affiliated with the brand,” Condren said. “We hope that we can continue to provide a service that helps Young Life build awareness of its brand.”

Staff in the Young Life Communications department work with the team at Ink to select merchandise and promote the online store.
