Because Young Life is
committed to the health and well-being of all participants in our programs, we
are closely monitoring and responding to the global COVID-19 (coronavirus)
outbreak. We are committed to understanding and complying with all guidance and
regulations provided and established by the CDC, WHO and local health agencies.
Young Life Camping
Any plans and usage of our
properties will be in accordance with bans on large group gatherings, travel
restrictions and our confidence that we can continue to meet our high standards
for health and safety at camp.
In light of the
coronavirus outbreak, we will add to our already rigorous health and safety
protocols at each of our camps as we make decisions about the summer
season. We continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreak and adjust
camping offerings and trips as needed to ensure the safety of all Young Life
staff, volunteers and guests.
Person-to-person
ministry
As areas
begin reopening, Young Life is engaging in limited person-to-person ministry in
states and counties that are allowing gatherings. In places with
stay-at-home orders in place, we continue to connect with kids online and
through social media.
Safety Protocols
We are taking a number
of protocols as we engage in person-to-person ministry, where it’s allowed:
- We
communicate to kids and parents that anyone not feeling well or at higher risk
continue to stay at home.
- We
encourage participants to stop the spread of germs, including making hand
sanitizer/hand washing available at every activity.
- We
plan activities that follow local guidelines – including social distancing or
wearing face masks. In addition, where these guidelines aren’t in place we
minimize any contact between participants.
- We
identify spaces to meet that allow for social distancing and for someone to
separate themselves if they feel ill.
- We
thoroughly clean meeting spaces, with special attention to high-contact
surfaces.
- Any
food served is either prepackaged or purchased from food distributors or
restaurants.
As you have questions,
please reach out
to your local Young Life staff to understand current guidelines in your
area.
