Coronavirus Action Plan

Because Young Life is committed to the health and well-being of all participants in our programs, we are closely monitoring and responding to the global COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. We are committed to understanding and complying with all guidance and regulations provided and established by the CDC, WHO and local health agencies. We will therefore make decisions about suspending or cancelling Young Life activities based on the guidance from these entities and we will further seek to mirror decisions made by local school officials (i.e. when school or school activities are cancelled, Young Life activities are also cancelled).

Temporary restrictions, effective 3/25/20

Effective immediately through April 3, 2020, in addition to the current restrictions on club, events, meetings and travel, Young Life is suspending any U.S. ministry activity (including work or leadership settings) involving person to person contactOf course meetings of any kind that can be done virtually will continue, as our staff and volunteers are finding ways to stay connected with and serve as a positive presence in the lives of young people in their communities. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution and care for our staff as well as kids and their families. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreak and the guidance of public health officials and will provide updates on our response as appropriate.

In addition, all business travel is also postponed or canceled in an effort to keep our communities, kids, and staff healthy.

As we continue to monitor the nature of this outbreak, we will determine whether and how long to extend these restrictions and whether there are other steps we can take in the interest of those in our community and public health in general.

In the meantime, our staff and volunteers will look for opportunities to remain in communication with the young people we serve over social media and other virtual platforms.

Young Life Camping

All Young Life camps are closed through May 15, in order to support health and safety.

We are planning for a full and exciting summer of camping. In light of the coronavirus outbreak, we will add to our already rigorous health and safety protocols at each of our camps as we prepare for the summer season. We will also continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreak and will adjust camping offerings and trips as needed to ensure the safety of all Young Life staff, volunteers and guests.
