Come and join Young Life College in Ostrava, Czech Republic. There has been a strong and growing Young Life presence in Ostrava for 10 years, and Young Life College is now a strategic part of advancing the mission. Join an amazing team of Americans and Czech who are working side-by-side to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. There is currently a Czech college director building this ministry who would like to invite others to join with him and the leadership team. The Czech  team would like a native English speaker to bolster the Young Life College team by helping lead “English clubs” (teaching conversational English) along with other standard Young Life ministry methods.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Participate in dynamic direct ministry with university students, most likely to include being available to help students learn conversational English.
  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
  • Partner with local Young Life, WyldLife and other initiative ministries.
  • Develop a community of volunteer leaders — some to work with adolescents and others to serve on committee.
  • Develop a plan to train, disciple and develop volunteer leaders.
  • Develop a staff recruitment pipeline.
  • Oversee the resource development of the area; meet with donors and oversee fundraising events and/or opportunities.
  • Participate and lead annual staff events and training events.
  • Fundraising 100 percent of budget through personal support.

Qualifications:

  • ​Adventurous and adaptable attitude for a new culture. Must be able to relate, work and build community in a multicultural, multilingual area.
  • Previous experience as a team leader in Young Life required; previous staff experience preferred; Young Life College experience preferred.
  • Vision and ability to recruit, develop and multiply leaders.
  • Ability to identify and develop fundraising opportunities within the local community with a vision for long-term sustainability of the ministry.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • College degree required.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Benefits:

​Housing supplements and cost of living adjustments help make living overseas affordable for international staff. In addition, staff may be reimbursed for the purchase or lease of a vehicle, an annual personal trip to see family, pre-K-12th grade private school education for dependent children, language school, moving expenses, and a one-time bonus of up to two-months' salary.
