Web Solutions Specialist — Colorado Springs, CO

Description:

The web solutions specialist will support and implement current designs and content on Young Life’s core websites. This position will be responsible for knowing design and content best practices, and be able to offer coaching and training to content stewards, as well as developing a variety of content and technical tools and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Content Management  
  • Serve on the team responsible for creating, coordinating and managing content on Young Life’s websites.
  • Support design efforts to keep Young Life websites current and compelling. Assist with site navigation and content/graphics.
  • Facilitate quality control and publishing of content on core websites.
  • Participate in the development and application of standards for Young Life web communications including, but not limited to: branding, legal wording, template structure, style guides and best practices.
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies and design trends, and help implement web design best practices.

Website Maintenance

  • Serve on the team tasked with the maintenance of Young Life’s websites.
  • Routinely update home page content and assist with communication of other routine maintenance.
  • Enforce quality control and Young Life web best practices.
  • Maintain and update areas of content, images and videos on core and secondary websites.
  • Participate in the development and application of a thorough maintenance and content calendar.
  • In conjunction with I.S. and the Communications staff, troubleshoot issues and fix web content obstacles.
  • Assist with training and support and act as a contact for the content stewards who wish to add/modify content on the Staff Resources Site and younglife.org.

MSite Up-Keep

  • Lead the team responsible for keeping mSites as usable and up-to-date as possible.
  • Work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards and assist with new development.
  • Offer excellent customer service to staff and volunteers in meeting their digital and website needs.  
  • Communicate with field staff and the Help Desk to compile feedback for enhancements, functionality and appearance of mSites.
  • Offer support to field staff in their use of the system via routine questions and troubleshooting.
  • Initiate/coordinate “shut-down” procedures for latent mSites.
  • Work with the Web Solutions team to identify areas for excellent training opportunities.

Newsletter Support

  • Serve as a member of the EMMA eNewsletter support team.
  • Be prepared to create/send EMMA communications for the Communications department and other departments/offices as requested.
  • Work in conjunction with I.S. and Marketing to provide support and training.
  • Design EMMA templates and graphics and ensure usability on various browsers.

Qualifications:

Working Conditions

Education

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

Experience Required for the Job

  • Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Photoshop and InDesign desired.
  • Knowledge of HTML and ability to use and learn additional HTML skills quickly.
  • Experience in content and design for web systems
  • Solid client skills and a desire to serve with excellence.
  • Proven ability to identify a finished and excellent product.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-directed and a good team-player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (to all levels of the organization).
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Previous experience/involvement in Young Life a plus.
