Staff Associate I — Midland, TX

The West Texas Region is seeking a staff associate I for Midland Young Life.

Midland Young Life started in 1976 and is a warm and inviting West Texas city. Midland Young Life is looking to hire a dynamic staff associate to build on growing ministries and a strong history!

The current ministry in Midland includes high school Young Life for public and private school adolescents, Capernaum, YoungLives, camping, and Campaigners Bible study. This position is for ministry to high school students in the city. Midland has a solid financial support base, a growing committee, and supportive adult involvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Personal spiritual health and a vital relationship with Christ.
  • Develop community and spiritual care for a team.
  • Build healthy working relationships with the school administration, campus ministers and the community.
  • Initiate and develop new ministry through contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.
  • Work with the area committee in area fundraising and grow a personal donor base each year.
  • Attend regional and area training and events.

Qualifications:

  • A deep and growing faith in the Triune God.
  • A philosophy and history of discipling others.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders, and committee members).
  • A vision and plan to grow current ministries in reaching kids, leaders, committee and parents.
  • A passion for reaching lost kids and calling others to that mission.
  • A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative and flexible.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills — as it pertains to donors and parents of kids.
  • Ministry experience preferred but not required.

Notes:

Our greatest desire is that every kid in the city of Midland would know and experience Jesus for themselves. A committee of adults, a base of volunteer leaders, and both full-time and part-time staff are in place to grow the ministry and welcome a new staff associate.

Midland is located on Interstate 20, halfway between Fort Worth and El Paso. Midland is a city with a population of more than 142,000. Midland recently experienced a large oil boom which has contributed to the influx of population in recent years.
