Software Testing Analyst — Colorado Springs, CO


An expert in testing web-based applications, this position teams with developers to deliver top-quality applications to Young Life constituents. Utilizing a combination of automated scripts and incrementally improved test plans, the software testing analyst assess releases of internal applications for meeting new requirements, as well as detecting issues with prior functionality.


  • ​Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed (e.g., perform manual static testing).
  • Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the latest techniques in test automation (e.g., data-driven testing).
  • Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain and execute automated test suites for various Young Life web-based applications (e.g., perform automated dynamic testing).
  • Work with the release engineering team to create and maintain an automated nightly build verification, or “smoke” test.
  • Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
  • Research and document bug reports following agreed-upon processes immediately upon discovery of a quality problem.
  • Update test execution status following agreed-upon processes as part of regularly-scheduled test status updates.
  • Test for compliance with security policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Info Systems or equivalent combination education and experience.

Experience Required for the Job

  • A minimum of three years of testing experience with at least one year of test automation experience.
  • Strong experience in developing and deploying automation suites.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience in developing and using Automation Frameworks.
  • Knowledge of automation tools using Microsoft Visual Studio Test, C# based Selenium, and Apex Programming.
  • Performance testing experience.
  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
  • Experience with security monitoring is a plus.
