Regional Capernaum Coordinator — Michigan/Northern Indiana (Part-Time)

Description:

​Consider joining the Western Great Lakes Region Leadership Team and be a part of a movement reaching thousands of adolescents. The region team is positioned to impact the world by influencing the lives of kids from diverse backgrounds through sharing the Gospel and developing life-long followers of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to have Capernaum ministry in every developed staffed area in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Participate in a local club.
  • Partner with the regional director to recruit, train, equip and sustain Capernaum staff and volunteer team leaders at the area level.
  • Serve as a member of the regional leadership team.
  • Communicate regularly with the regional director and area directors who oversee Capernaum ministries.
  • Foster community among Capernaum staff and volunteer team leaders.
  • Provide initial training tools to Capernaum start-up areas.
  • Impart vision for the Capernaum ministry in the region to current and potential donors.
  • Personal fundraising ​is required for this position. Fantastic training and coaching is included.
  • Work in partnership with the Midwest Division Capernaum divisional coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • A deep prayer life and commitment to Jesus first, both in ministry and personally.
  • Strong commitment and vision to reach every kid and develop all types of Young Life ministries.
  • Desire and ability to recruit and develop a diverse team.
  • Ability to lead across a diverse set of communities (culturally and socioeconomically).
  • Healthy view of wealth and poverty and understanding of how to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to commit to the region for three to five years.
  • Young Life staff or equivalent ministry experience preferred.
  • Implementation of prior/current strategic plans for areas or ministries.
  • Involvement in committee development and training.
  • Coordination and execution of events.
