Office Administrator — Seattle, WA (Part-Time)


Young Life Capernaum Greater Seattle is seeking to hire a part-time office administrator. You would join a thriving Capernaum ministry and have the opportunity to be part of helping the area continue to grow and reach more kids and young people with disabilities. The position is approximately 20 hours. The hours are flexible depending on the area's events and fundraisers. You will work directly with the area director and associate staff. A heart to serve is a must!


Daily and Monthly Tasks
  • Assist the area director with all written communications.
  • Answer phone and email and return messages.
  • Keep the calendar and regularly send reminder emails and other communications to volunteer leaders, parents, committee and others as needed.
  • Assist with area mailings – includes making photocopies and mailing labels and processing mail.
  • Maintain and update area donor, leader, committee and club kids’ databases, as needed.
  • Be an active member of the area committee. Take notes and email them to the committee.
Seasonal Tasks
  • Prepare new student packets, returning student packets, and leader packets. This includes copying all forms and paperwork, organizing materials into folders, and mailing and distributing them.
  • Make sure all volunteers and club kids have appropriate forms on file.
  • Attend monthly special events to help with set-up, check-in and tear down.
  • Provide administrative support for area fundraisers -- bowl-a-thon and banquet.
  • Work on projects for the area director on an as-needed basis.
Camp-Related Tasks
  • Assist the area director with winter and summer camp planning and organization.
  • Create, copy and mail out camp registration flyers, informational letters and packets to campers.
  • Create and maintain registration spreadsheets for campers to track RSVPs, completed forms, camp payment and deposits, etc.
  • Communicate with the camp property regarding preparation information.
  • Send out confirmations of camp registration to campers.
  • Help complete applications for camp-provided scholarships (if needed, write follow-up required by camp for scholarship recipients).
  • Process all necessary camp-related forms.


  • Growing faith in Christ and active member of a local church.
  • A team player who has the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new software and computer applications well.
  • Skills using social media and updating websites a plus.
  • Prior administrative experience preferred.  


Young Life Capernaum Greater Seattle is run by a senior area director with many years of experience serving kids and young adults with disabilities. Young Life Capernaum Greater Seattle is a well-developed, thriving ministry currently serving six high schools in the greater Seattle area. We are looking for someone who has a heart for kids with disabilities and their families. You will be joining our growing team and will be working as an assistant to the area director. This role is essential to the area, and you will make a huge difference for the Kingdom as you interact and support kids, families, volunteers, donors and staff!
