Direct Ministry I or II — Vail, CO

​Vail Valley Young Life is currently looking for a Young Life direct ministry staff person to serve our Up Valley Young Life club. The focus of the staff position is to serve, direct and sustain ministry in Edwards, Avon, Vail and Minturn (Up Valley community).

With one public high school, two private high schools and one alternative school (Up Valley), it is our desire to build relationships throughout the schools. All schools are involved in one club (Up Valley Young Life).

Vail Valley has a healthy ongoing ministry, an upstanding reputation in the community, and a great deal of room to develop and grow.

Responsibilities:

​The direct ministry focus is to give leadership to our Up Valley team. Their main responsibilities include the following:
  • Work closely with the area director.
  • Cast vision and leadership.
  • Provide spiritual leadership.
  • Recruit and train leaders.
  • Build community and parent support teams.
  • Model excellent relational work with kids.
  • Create teams of people (leaders and parents) to support and grow the local ministry.
  • Fulfill Young Life Training courses (as needed to stay current).

Qualifications:

  • A deep and growing faith in Jesus.
  • Ability to build strong, deep and lasting relationships with kids and adults.
  • Young Life experience required (five or more years).
  • Finished and graduated from a Young Life Leader Training program.
  • Completed Staff Associate and Leadership I & II Training.
  • Volunteered in Young Life for two or more years.
  • Proven pastoral leadership in the lives of kids and adults.
  • The ability to speak Spanish and English fluently (helpful but not required).
  • Must raise $30,000 of personal support​.
