Business Analyst – Salesforce Administrator — Colorado Springs, CO


This self-motivated, hard-working and innovative individual provides professional leadership, project management guidance, and technical expertise to further the mission of Young Life as a member of the Project Management Office.


  • ​Work as a business analyst/internal change consultant to investigate business systems, identify options for improving business systems, and bridge the needs of organizational units. This role will have a high level of focus on the best use of emerging and web technologies for the mission.
    • Understand business process management and business requirements of the customers and translate them to specific requirements.
    • Ensure that process/product and project recommendations are commercial yet competitive and aligns with mission goals.
    • Document and analyze process/project information and data.
    • Monitor and report on trends in digital content development and distribution.
    • Recommend and/or implement testing and adoption of new technologies.
    • Evaluate and report on information gathered through independent research, workshops, surveys, business process definitions, task analysis and reporting mechanisms.
    • Effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements like GUI, screen and interface designs, when needed.
    • Very strong technical skills coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of customer's needs so that they can be transformed into application and operational requirements.
    • Act as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams.
    • Lead or participate in the change management process.

  • Effectively manage projects for new or improved business processes and initiatives including the following:
    • Supervise all project activities including initiation, planning, monitoring/controlling and closeout.
    • Facilitate project management processes and documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.
    • Manage project budget, scope and schedule.
    • Implement quality planning and management.
    • Select and recruit project teams; organize team meetings.
    • Facilitate selection of consulting firms or other procurements (when applicable).
    • Identify, report on, and respond to risks, assumptions and status of projects.
    • Facilitate and assist in implementing a project communications plan.
    • Ensure that all documentation is properly completed.
    • Evaluate performance of project teams and individual team members.
    • Conduct post-implementation project reviews.

  • Lead organizational change management activities as assigned.
  • Departmental leadership and roles.
    • Participate with the Project Management office and Project Leadership Team to identify and implement practices that are best for Young Life.
    • Participate in the development and monitoring of project, operating and capital budgets.
    • Provide professional status reports and deliver presentations as required.

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

Experience Required for the Job

  • Salesforce Advanced Admin certification.
  • Five or more years Salesforce experience especially in data model/architecture.
  • Three years direct work experience in a lead project management, business analyst and/or organizational change management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Previous experience/involvement in Young Life or a large non-profit a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and SmartSheets.
  • Solid working knowledge of current technologies.
  • Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
