Area Director — Mt. Prospect, IL


Prospect Young Life is looking to hire an area director for a new high school ministry at Prospect High School. Prospect High School is in the northwest suburbs of Chicago serving primarily Mt. Prospect and Arlington Heights. This is an exciting opportunity to start a new ministry. The Prospect Young Life committee, formed earlier this year, is committed to building a ministry sustainable for the long term. We are looking for an area director who can launch a new ministry for the long term with room to grow.

Young Life is a non-profit organization with the goal of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.


Do you love Jesus? Do you care that kids have the opportunity to know Him? Are you passionate about building relationships with others? If so, Prospect Young Life would love to hear from you!

  • Love high school students in the community and share with them about Jesus through individual relationships, Bible studies and events.
  • Lead a team of adult volunteers to share the love of Jesus with high school students.
  • Work closely with parents to better love and engage their kids.
  • Work closely with the Prospect Young Life committee to build a God-honoring ministry.
  • Together with the committee, raise funds and awareness of Young Life in the area.
  • Plan and execute weekly events with the assistance of volunteers to introduce kids to Jesus or help further their relationship with Him.
  • This is a full-time position that includes benefits.


  • A deep love for Jesus and high school students.
  • Ability and desire to relate to all high school students and adults.
  • Self-motivation with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability and desire to maintain a varying schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Comfortable working independently and as a part of a team.
  • A learners posture with a desire to grow​ and be teachable.
  • A leader with humility and ability to ask for help when needed.
  • Ability and desire to relate to adults including high schoolers' parents and adult volunteers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Young Life experience is helpful, but not required.
