Area Director II — Omaha, NE

Young Life in the Omaha metropolitan area is seeking a strong, dynamic, experienced, organized and strategic leader to help us reach thousands of teenagers with the love of Jesus! This is an incredible opportunity for a proven staff member who is ready to take it to the next level by leading a team to reach a city of nearly one million people! We are off to a good start, with five staff serving in multicultural, suburban and Capernaum ministries, community support (200+ people came to our fall 2019 banquet) and an engaged committee.

This is a resource-rich community with colleges (Creighton, University of Nebraska Omaha, Bellevue, Nebraska Christian College, etc.), donors and key stakeholders. The sky is the limit to what God can do in the lives of kids here.

We need a strong, proven leader to build a cohesive, unified, inclusive, kingdom-focused vision and strategy implementation. The job will require exceptional leadership skills, a passion for developing and recruiting leaders to grow and sustain the ministries, and excellent communication and organization with both students and adults. Experience working with students and adults of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds is strongly preferred. With an authentic focus on Jesus, both personally and in the community, the area director will work with the committee to develop innovative strategies to bring growth, health and unity to Omaha Young Life.

Omaha is a great place to raise a family. Families account for a large part of the metro area's population, with more than a quarter of those households including children younger than 18. Omaha's community feels fairly young, thanks in part to the large number of college students who live in the region. As you drive into the state of Nebraska, you're welcomed into what the state calls "The Good Life," where Midwestern values of neighborliness and friendliness are held in high esteem. Omaha is also home to an impressive arts and culture scene, with museums like the Joslyn Art Museum and performing arts venues like the Holland Performing Arts Center offering entertainment year-round.
