Area Director I or II — Philadelphia, PA

Description:

​The Liberty Region is seeking an area director to serve in the Western Philadelphia Suburbs. The area includes school districts along the Mainline (Route 30) from Malvern to Lower Merion as well as the area to the south along Route 3. It is an affluent area with close ties to the city of Philadelphia.

The areas bordering the city, present ample opportunity for multiethnic ministry — as one of the most diverse high schools in the country can be found here. Additionally, Young Life College is new to the area and is thriving.

This position will recruit and train leaders for Young Life and WyldLife ministries (working closely with the Young Life College director), sustain current ministry, seek to begin new ministries, and grow the local committee, which currently has a number of dedicated, passionate and caring adults who are committed to Young Life’s success here.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the area is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Develop and grow church and community partnerships.
  • Develop and lead area fundraising efforts.
  • Direct ministry: model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping to other leaders.
  • Recruit and train new staff and leaders to build leadership teams that reflect the community.
  • Develop consistent gatherings with committee, leaders and staff to build unity and provide vision and direction.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.

Qualifications:

  • ​Deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ and love for people.
  • Spiritual maturity and an ability to lead others in their relationship with Christ.
  • A call to reach kids with the Gospel.
  • Experience in direct ministry.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
