Area Director — Rockwall County, TX

​Rockwall County Young Life is an established Young Life area that sits on the east side of beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard just 25 miles from downtown Dallas. Rockwall has a population of 35,000 with two large diverse high schools in the community full of every type of kid. Rockwall sits in the Northeast Texas Region which includes 35 areas and 75 full-time staff members, most located within one hour of each other.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and area level.
  • Recruit and train staff and leaders to build leadership teams that reflect the community.
  • Build healthy mission community among staff, leaders and committee while providing vision and direction.
  • Supervise, develop and evaluate area staff, providing resources and experiences needed to implement the vision.
  • Observe and evaluate each of the schools/ministries in the local area annually.
  • Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club.
  • Lead an effective Campaigners ministry with excellence.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping to other leaders.
  • Develop and lead the area’s fundraising strategy and ensure excellence in communication to donors.
  • Raise the necessary funds to carry out the ministry vision for the local area, keeping the area consistently in surplus (goal is a one-month cash reserve minimum).
  • Manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency using the missionwide applications.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Young Life staff experience required, preferably two - three years.
    • Require completion of Young Life Core Training Phase 1.

  • Love for Christ and kids.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Proven relational and leadership skills with youth and adults.
  • Ability to recruit, train and lead adults.
  • Ability to raise personal support.
