Associate Area Director or Area Director — Nashville, TN


​Nashville Young Life is seeking an associate area director or an area director to develop and grow our multiethnic ministry in the city. We desire a gifted leader with multiethnic ministry experience who will oversee multiple staff and volunteer leaders in four multiethnic high schools in North Nashville, lead our new Developing Future Leaders program, and recruit leaders from the community as well as two HBCUs.
Nashville Young Life has a rich 52-year history! We have a large staff, more than 200 volunteer leaders, and 19 clubs that include Young Life College, YoungLives, Capernaum and WyldLife with more opportunities for growth and expansion in the future.
Nashville is an incredible city full of music, life and culture. It is a global and diverse city with more than 120 languages spoken in the majority non-white public school system. One hundred people are moving to the city daily adding to the excitement of the state’s largest metropolitan city with more than a million people. Nashville is the second fastest growing city in the country. From honky tonks ​to city parks, from lakes to rivers, to three professional sports teams, the Music City has a lot to offer!


  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and area level.
  • Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
  • Model excellent contact work, discipleship and club ministry.
  • Work collaboratively with the greater Nashville Young Life staff to achieve an overarching area vision.
  • Participation and leadership in regional and area events, staff trainings and summer camping assignments.
  • Supervise, support, recruit and develop area staff and volunteer team leaders through networking two HBCUs and neighborhood communities.
  • Cultivate part-time and potential full-time multiethnic staff through Developing Future Leaders.
  • Develop an outreach and discipleship camping strategy.
  • Raise personal support and take an active role in helping raise the area’s budget through the development of new and current area donors as well as annual fundraising events.
  • Work with the local committee and churches to build community connections and support the overall organization of the area.

  • Fundraising knowledge and success — including personal fundraising ability.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills — as it pertains to donors and parents of kids.
  • Strong initiative and vision to grow current ministries.
  • Spiritually and emotionally healthy and willing to get the support/mentors needed to maintain.
  • Completion of Young Life Staff Associate training preferred, or another relevant training equivalent.
  • College degree preferred.
