Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the area is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Develop and lead a healthy Young Life ministry in the area utilizing proven Young Life methods.
  • Work with the regional director and other international staff to develop a regional team that provides leadership to long-term sustainable growth.
  • Develop and manage a start-up plan for Young Life ministry in the new area or town.
  • Recruit, train and supervise the personnel necessary to carry out the plan (committee, staff and/or volunteers).
  • Oversee compliance with established Young Life policies and procedures.
  • Ability to be a strong developer; develop relationships with critical constituencies in the area in the geography being developed.
  • Be aware of social service agencies that various local agencies provide for kids and families.
  • Oversee development and management of budgets according to TDS principles.
  • Ensure that adequate financial support is raised to fund ministry expenses.
  • Continue to be attentive to personal fundraising to supplement other sources of revenue as needed.
  • Ensure that all Young Life financial policies and procedures are implemented.

Qualifications:

  • Adventurous and adaptable attitude for a new culture. Must be able to relate, work and build community in a multicultural, multilingual area.
  • Must have completed applicable Young Life training schools (e.g., Area Director School).
  • Previous experience as a team leader in Young Life required; previous staff experience preferred.
  • Vision and ability to recruit, develop and multiply leaders.
  • Ability to identify and develop fundraising opportunities within the local community.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • College degree required.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • German language skills preferred; language school required if not fluent in the German language.​
