Area Administrator I (Part-Time) — Goldendale, WA


​Klickitat County Young Life is a new Young Life area with a full-time staff associate. The area growth plan is to develop a thriving WyldLife (middle school) ministry followed by Young Life (high school) in the next two years. The area is blessed with ​a vital committee and is able to support a part-time administrator going forward (beginning at 10 hours per week). This person will work in concert with the staff associate to create the most effective model for administration. This is an amazing opportunity to grow with a new Young Life area!



  • Manage office communications including inbound calls, emails and mailings.
  • Manage the area’s website and Instagram by keeping content current.
  • Create and manage the delivery of area newsletters on a regular basis.
  • Act as area point-person for donor, leader, parent and community member questions.


  • Process and track donations and build and maintain donor databases.
  • Collaborate with the area director on donor care strategy and subsequently execute discussed initiatives.
  • Build and maintain leader databases, ensuring that leader forms, driver questionnaires and criminal background checks are up-to-date.
  • Manage day-to-day finances for the area including paying monthly expenses, area and staff expense reports, etc.
  • Able to maintain flexibility within assigned tasks and problem solve.
  • Lead other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Monitor area expense reports in Concur.


  • Lead annual summer camping process including registration, camp communication, transportation details, and other logistics like camp send-off and student fundraising.
  • Lead fundraising event registration process and work with the chair to coordinate execution of event.
  • Design and coordinate other area events as needed, such as: community meals, area Christmas party, leadership trainings.


  • ​Two years previous administrative assistant experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with all or most of: Google Docs, Concur, Apple OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Doodle Polls, Facebook, Instagram, web page editing, email marketing platforms, and Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Satisfactory CQ Evaluation (Cultural Intelligence).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for newsletters, digital and print communication, and written relational engagement with our community.
  • Ability to type 50+ words/minute.
  • Phone etiquette with leaders, donors, staff and volunteers.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained by the area director and regional administrator.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
