Area Manager - Warren, NSW, Australia



​An exciting four-day/week position has become available through a partnership between Young Life Australia and the Warren Christian Education Association Incorporated (WCEAI), engaging with young people in the community in line with our organization's​​ ministry model and including Scripture teaching one day/week. The position is initially four days/week with a view to become full-time in the future as further funds are raised.

Young Life Australia is a non-denominational Christian charity specializing in mentoring young people and offering stable and caring role models to teenagers. Young Life operates in more than a dozen urban and rural communities around Australia. Our mission is to build confidence, values and resilience in Australia's young people through significant relationships with adults who model the love of Jesus Christ. Warren Christian Education Association Incorporated (WCEAI) is an entity with a heart to see Scripture teaching occurring in their local community, specifically at the local public high school.

Young Life has a dynamic and unique ministry model based on a relational approach to young people outside the usual reach of the local church. Young Life is seeking a spiritually mature person with a heart for outreach and discipleship to work with youth in Warren, located in Western NSW. The role would be supervised by the Central West regional manager, and supported by the local area committee.

You'll be responsible for managing Young Life's programs both in school and out of school, delivering Young Life club and attending camping activities, and participating in fundraising and donor care initiatives, as well as teaching Scripture in the local high school one day/week. There is an expectation the successful applicant will work with the Young Life Warren team to raise financial support.


  • Provide spiritual and managerial leadership to the Young Life ministry.
  • Inspire, lead and grow a group of adult volunteer leaders.
  • Manage Young Life's programs both in and out of the school.
  • Plan and execute weekly club meetings.
  • Attend camping activities.
  • Build caring relationships with teenagers.
  • Participate in fundraising and donor care initiatives.
  • Teach Scripture in the local high school one day/week.
  • Raise personal financial support for this position.


  • Committed Christian faith (with reference from your Christian minister/pastor).
  • Empathy and experience in relating well with young people as well as older stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to lead and to delegate responsibility.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
  • Capacity to fundraise and coordinate events.

Highly Desirable

  • ​Qualification and/or experience in youth work, teaching or theology.
  • Experience Scripture teaching.
  • Previous management experience of staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience in an independent school context.
  • Background in youth-related, not-for-profit Christian mission.
  • Accredited first-aid certificate​.
