Area Director - Grand Cayman

Description:

An exciting opportunity has emerged to begin building Young Life in Grand Cayman. We are looking for a seasoned Young Life area director who can initiate and launch new work on this island. There is currently local support of both resources and people who are looking to start Young Life ministry here. This is a pioneering mission for someone interested in creating and casting the vision for Young Life in Grand Cayman for years to come. If you are looking for a new adventure and have the gifts and abilities to start and build a ministry, this is a great opportunity to expand Young Life around the world.​

Responsibilities:

  • Create and promote vision for the area.
  • Oversee student outreach and discipleship; coordinate and lead a weekly club. 
  • Ability to supervise and train.
  • Develop and oversee ministry at local schools.
  • Facilitate and support Campaigners.
  • Implement a yearlong camp strategy (mission trips, spring break trips, work week, etc.).
  • Relational ministry with local high school and middle school students.
  • Promote community ownership; communicate the vision of Young Life leaders.
  • Connect with adults in the community including school and church leaders.
  • Fundraising and financial management of the Young Life area budget.
  • Develop and maintain good donor relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three to five years of Young Life staff experience, preferably as an area director. 
  • Adventurous and adaptable attitude for a new culture. Must be able to relate, work and build community in a multicultural, multilingual area. 
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills. 
  • Possesses vision and ability to recruit, develop and multiply leaders.
  • Ability to identify and develop fundraising opportunities in the local community. 
  • College degree required. 
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults. 
  • Strong written and verbal communications.

Benefits:

Housing supplements and cost of living adjustments help make living overseas affordable for international staff. In addition, staff may raise funds and be reimbursed for the purchase of a vehicle, an annual personal trip to see family, pre-K through 12th grade private school education for dependent children, language school, moving expenses, and a one-time bonus of up to two-months’ salary.
