Chris was once involved in Young Life Capernaum as a teenager. Now, at age 31, he is a leader in his area. Chris is very bold when it comes to sharing his faith, and having Down syndrome doesn't inhibit his growing relationship with Jesus one bit.

Recently Chris went to the doctor's office for an echocardiogram as a follow-up procedure to a heart surgery he had many years ago. His mom was with him and reported that Chris was very interested in the picture of his heart and how it works. He asked many questions about what he was seeing and hearing.

At one point Chris asked the doctor, "Do you see the Holy Spirit in there? He lives there, you know." Chris' mom was so amazed and noted the doctor's reaction. He said, "No, only see the heart."

Later the doctor told Chris that his heart is in great condition and he obviously had many people who helped in this. But Chris said that it was "mainly Jesus that did this." "No," the doctor said, meaning that it was Chris' mom, dad and doctors. Chris insisted, "No, it was mainly Jesus who fixed my heart."
