What Kids Say

The presence of Young Life in Haiti is a miracle and an open door that can make it possible for young people to have a beautiful and better life in the world in Jesus Christ. – Shadson, Club Delmas, Haiti
All the Young Life leaders were put into my life for a reason, and they have inspired me to be who I am today. God put them in my life to help me come closer to Him, and even though they can be a burden and nuisance when they tell you things you do not want to hear, I would not want it any other way. I would highly recommend talking to them if you recently accepted Jesus into your heart. They may seem like freaks when they are doing their skits and games, but they really know what they are doing and talking about. – feedback from a high school student via younglife.org
I would like to say thank you for all the fun I had for the past week. I really had a blast at Young Life camp making new friends, doing some crazy stuff like the Blob, the ropes course, the zip line and the tubes. But the coolest part is when I got to learn more about God and how He died for us. I just wish we could stay at camp for more than a week. – P.J., Virginia

The highlights of my camping experience were meeting new people, making new friends and doing activities like the ropes course, the zip line and the swing. The obstacles helped me put my skills and knowledge to use and helped me develop a new sense of bravery and strength and courage. In other words it helped me go above and beyond. My faith is maybe even stronger than ever. My spiritual faith has been reinforced. – Tom (Capernaum camper), Virginia
One of the greatest things about Young Life is that it’s not just some random old guy preaching to you. They’re real people who can relate to everything kids go through. They’re people you can trust and know they’ll understand what you’re trying to say. They’re people who you talk to about things you don’t hear in other places. They also make sure teens understand that God exists outside of club and camp. Young Life doesn’t try to replace Jesus in teenagers’ lives. It helps them find Him. – Wesley, New York

I've grown up in a somewhat Christian environment. I always went to church with my dad, but never my mom because she wasn't into the whole "God" thing. So I had a pretty decent understanding of who Christ was and what being a Christian was all about. I imitated my friends and elders at my church, hoping they would believe my act and take me as one of their own. I also loved to sing and was told I had a true talent, so I performed for my church a lot, taking compliments as my own to glorify myself, instead of Him.
But that all changed last summer when I went to a Young Life camp. It was literally the most amazing and unforgettable week of my life. I truly accepted God into my life and it hasn't been the same since. Now when I sing in church, I give all the glory to Him and thank Him for my talent. Every day with Him is more beautiful and I can't wait to see where He leads me in life! – Leslie
