In Their Words

Young Life was fun, pertinent and the way cool thing to do. Four to five hundred kids went to club at my school [Memorial High School in Houston, Texas]. At Young Life I started hearing about Jesus in a new way, and I asked Him into my life.
– Elisa Morgan, president of MOPS International
Young Life has such an easy appeal. You can tell an audience that the most effective ministry is under their nose and that they’ll see the results in their own community if they’ll support it.
– Hugh Hewitt, author and talk radio host
Young Life's vision of "every kid, everywhere, for eternity," is being realized through their dynamic international ministry. I've had the privilege of seeing Young Life at work in Africa where they are training African staff and volunteers to touch the lives of African kids with the love of Christ. No matter where Young Life goes throughout the world, their motivation, methods and ministry are making a difference.
– Susan Hutchison, Young Life Board of Trustees member, and former news anchorwoman in Seattle, Wash.
I have always appreciated the way that Young Life has provided an open door for many teens who would not otherwise have been invited into circles where they would hear about Christ. Through the 20-plus years of youth ministry and the thousands of letters I receive from teens, I know what a good work Young Life is doing in providing that open door to so many teens.
– Robin Jones Gunn, author of the Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen series or novels for teen girls, which have sold more than 2 million copies
Young Life was a big part of my life in high school. I loved how many fun and random hilarious activities they came up with and how Young Life leaders really care about each individual. There was always a great message, but it was always given in a really open and accepting way — never forced.
– Kate Voegele, a 20 year-old singer/songwriter from Bay Village, Ohio. Her debut album, "Don't Look Away" (MySpace Records) was released in May 2007.
I have been involved with Young Life at various levels since 1968. I know of no group more focused or more effective in accurately representing and attractively presenting Jesus Christ to adolescents wherever they may be found.
– John Bradford, Young Life Board of Trustees member, and CEO of Mrs. Stratton’s Salads, Inc.
We have tremendous challenges in Alaska with young adults who believe no one cares for them. Sadly, we lead the nation in several categories of social dysfunction, often fueled by alcohol abuse and abandonment. Young Life brings caring adults into their world who not only tell them about the love of Jesus, but also demonstrate it through spending quality time with them. The results are profound — many of these teens are now living victorious lives — and are leading others by example. My wife, Carolyn, and I support this mentoring of young people through their often difficult teen years.
– Loren Leman, Lieutenant Governor, Alaska (2002-2006)

I credit Young Life with the turnaround in my life about getting serious in my walk with God. My Young Life leader, Jack Loy, was the single most influential person in my life as far as drawing me closer to the Lord.
– Rear Admiral Robert Burt, Chief of Navy Chaplains
