Walt "Podzee" Morris – larger than life in El Paso

The man God used to bring Young Life to El Paso, Texas, in 1962, Walter "Podzee" Morris, went home to his Savior on Oct. 5, 2007.

Best remembered for his commitment to sharing Christ with kids, he supported the ministry as a volunteer leader, committee member and donor. Podzee helped organize and participate in golf tournaments for the past 10 years to send as many kids to camp each year as possible.

The First-Annual Walter Morris Memorial Golf Tournament was held in May to continue raising funds for campership. "I know Podzee's smiling down from heaven," Donna Curlin, former committee member said, "knowing that many kids will go to camp this year and years into the future with the aid of funds from this golf tournament."

Podzee will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and by the many, many kids who now know Christ because of him.
