The Young Life Board of Trustees recently welcomed two new trustees, L. Brooks Entwistle and Dr. Kevin McVaney. In September, Terry Looper and Bishop Eddie Long will rotate off the Board. Wally Hawley was elected chair and Paul Trible will be vice chair.
L. Brooks Entwistle
As a managing director and CEO of Goldman Sachs in India, Brooks Entwistle is responsible for all the firm’s businesses in India.
Entwistle's selection to the Board marks another chapter of Young Life involvement for his family. His father was on Young Life staff, and Entwistle was also involved with Young Life as a high school student in Colorado Springs, Colo., and attended camp at Malibu.
In recent years, Entwistle and his wife, Laura, have also been involved with the mission in Hong Kong, Mongolia and Cambodia.
In addition to his Young Life involvement, Entwistle has played a significant role in the Goldman Foundation's contributions to establish 450 libraries in India. He and his wife have three daughters, ages 5, 4 and 2.
Dr. Kevin McVaney
Currently a physician at Denver Health Medical Center, Dr. Kevin McVaney's involvement in the mission dates back to his high school years. Since then, he's served as a volunteer leader in college and a committee member. In addition to his involvement with several Young Life areas, he's also served as a camp doctor — a position he held at Castaway this summer.
Having served as a major in the United States Air Force, McVaney also sits on the Board of Directors of the Child's Grief Education Association.
He and his wife, Colleen, have three sons who are 10, 8 and 6; and a daughter who is 3.
