New terms began Sept. 1 for five Board of Trustees members: Kerry Alberti, Rodney Lawler, Jeff Pope, Michael Stain and Paul Trible. Jerry Colangelo, Judy Sweeney and Phyllis Washington have rotated off the Board. John Bradford is the chair and Wally Hawley is the vice chair. Below is more on the new trustees.

Kerry Alberti: He’s worked as Young Life’s senior vice president of Services and chief financial officer. Alberti has served several times as a trustee since 1985.

Rodney Lawler: Currently the CEO of a real estate and commercial development firm, Lawler also worked as a city manager, and was a trustee from 2001 to 2005.

Jeff Pope: He’s the retired co-founder and partner of Custom Research, Inc. Pope was also a trustee from 2001 to 2005.

Michael Stain: Currently a senior vice president for Wells Fargo, he has been in commercial banking for 22 years. He also served on the Board from 1999 to 2003.

Paul Trible: Before becoming the president of Christopher Newport University, Trible was a U.S. Senator and a U.S. Congressman, as well as a Virginia gubernatorial candidate.
