Ministry Update: a Look at the 2006 Summer Camping Season
Sep. 05, 2006

Getting Every Kid to Camp
This year, donors gave approximately $518,600 to Young Life’s Urban Campership fund, which helps pay for kids from urban areas so they can enjoy the best week of their lives at a Young Life camp.

Camp for All
A YoungLives camp for teen moms and their children was held in August at Lost Canyon in Williams, Ariz. The camp bustled with 130 teen moms, 133 children, 51 mentors and 133 childcare workers.

Two camps were held this past summer specifically for Capernaum kids — one near Balitmore, Md., and one at Young Life’s Crooked Creek. in Colorado. Joining the kids were Capernaum “buddies”  (volunteers providing one-on-one help to their friends). And throughout the summer, Capernaum kids attended other Young Life camps around the country.

Camp Around the World
Kids around the world experienced Young Life camping in a variety of countries, including France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Tanzania, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
