Congratulations to Ray Donatucci, Young Life Northern Division training coordinator, who completed his Doctor of Ministry degree in February 2008 through Fuller Seminary. Donatucci, who has served on Young Life staff for 35 years, focused his dissertation on using the Apostles’ Creed to "educate, inspire and empower volunteers in ministry."
While working with freshmen at Colorado University, Donatucci created a training manual to help prepare these students to be Young Life leaders after their first year of college. "Over time I started incorporating the Apostles’ Creed as the template from which to train new leaders. It seemed to me that most of these incoming freshmen needed to understand what they believed as well as how to be a Young Life volunteer.” The manual’s purpose, Donatucci explained, “is to educate potential volunteers in what is basic to our faith, inspire them to actually experience and participate in these truths, and then motivate them to apply these truths to their lives and ministries."
