The International Information Weekend is a required pre-training event for all who are preparing to come on staff, though many attend this event in the initial stages of their inquiry with Young Life International. This event is offered twice each year, in the fall and spring. Candidates are encouraged to attend as early as possible in their inquiry/application process. Find out more about the next Information Weekend.

New Staff Training (NST) provides those preparing to deploy overseas with an additional two weeks of focused training. If you are just out of college, are new to staff or have minimal Young Life experience, you are considered an intern and will be placed on a two-year training track. Discounted seminary credit is available for the academic courses which are offered as a part of Young Life’s internship program.

Cross-Cultural Orientation (CCO) is a week of intensive pre-deployment training on all things cross-cultural. Issues covered range from culture shock to moral purity. CCO is offered annually in conjunction with New Staff Training.

Area Director School (ADS) is a week of intensive training for experienced staff who will be serving as area directors overseas. You attend alongside stateside staff or in your respective region.

Regional Leadership gatherings provide ongoing training, mentorship, supervision and encouragement on the field. International regions and areas host these required trainings, and all costs are worked into your budget. Proper funds must be present in your account prior to registration.
