 | What kinds of people are in Young Life?
There is no one type of person involved in Young Life. It’s for everyone. It’s a place to talk about surviving school, break-ups, parents, bad grades or God. If this sounds appealing, then there is space for you in Young Life.
|
 | Is Young Life for me?
That’s a question you have to answer. If you are open to exploring who you are and who God is, then check it out.
|
 | Why are my friends in Young Life?
Most likely, they go because there’s something about Young Life they enjoy. They’ve found a fun and safe place where they can be themselves and where they feel like they belong. They may also have found that they can ask questions and share their opinions. In Young Life, you can be friends with people you may otherwise not have met. Best of all, Young Life comes with unforgettable opportunities that could change your life.
|
 | What do you do in Young Life?
When people first think of Young Life, they think of “club.” Basically, club is a time when a bunch of students get together (anyone is invited) to laugh, play games and talk a little about life. The bulk of Young Life, though, is simply about friendships. It’s doing what you like to do, with your friends and your leaders. Beyond club and amazing friendships, Young Life offers time to talk about the Bible and spirituality (Campaigners) or a variety of trips to places that help you focus on life and God. One of those places is Young Life camp. |
 | Do I have to do anything to join Young Life?
No. No membership is required. All you have to do is show up.
|
 | Who besides kids will be there?
Besides kids, there will be people there who are called leaders. Leaders come from a variety of backgrounds and they range in age from college students to retirees. They are people who genuinely care about you.
|
 | Who are leaders? Why are they here?
Leaders are people interested in you. They are here because they care, they want to talk and they love to have fun. Their goal is for you to have fun and think about your life in new ways. They show up because God has worked in their lives, and they want to show His care and compassion to others.
|
 | Is it free?
Pretty much. You can go to all kinds of Young Life events without paying a dime. Camp, however, does cost money. Even then, your Young Life staff and leaders can help you figure out how to pay for it.
|
 | What will I have to do?
At Young Life, there aren’t a lot of rules. A typical “club” time means some skits, songs and games. It also entails a short talk about life and God. You can participate or just watch. If you can do that while hanging out with some friends, you can handle Young Life.

 | I hear words like camp, club and Campaigners. What are those all about?
Camp is a multi-day event dedicated to kids. It’s a place (and there are a number of Young Life camps across the country) where you do things like ride the zip line, water ski, play frisbee golf, eat fantastic food, laugh hysterically, have great conversations and hear about God’s love for you. Camp is a place designed for you to have fun and make memories that will last a lifetime. Club is an hour of fun and laughter. It’s usually held in the home of someone you go to school with. At club, you can get away from the daily pressures of school and life and just relax. In this hour, you’ll yell, sing, watch wacky competitions and laugh. You’ll also learn more about God and new ways of looking at life. Campaigners is for people interested in talking more about the spiritual stuff that the leaders talk about at club. People get together to talk about God, see what the Bible says about life and ask questions. |
