For Young Life Staff

Why include Amicus as part of your area’s strategy?

Amicus:

  • Won’t cost your area extra money or require an enormous time committment.

  • Instantly adds new kids to your ministry. As an Amicus student gets involved, it’s also likely that their other exchange student friends or even host siblings will get involved.

  • Is a great donor “selling point:” As donors give to your local work they are also making a global impact, because Amicus students will bring their faith back to their home countries.

  • Helps families who are hosting exchange students get involved with Young Life.

  • Supports Young Life staff overseas. Many Amicus students have been involved with Young Life in their home countries. You are helping to continue the efforts to introduce them to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith.

  • Expands your volunteer ministry. The Amicus representative promotes both Young Life and Amicus to potential host families.

  • Is a way to connect positively with your local high schools and churches.

  • Adds a unique atmosphere to the ministry and asks probing questions that benefit all.

  • Involves host families, who are often willing to attend local functions as well as support the ministry.
